Karen Richardson

I received my Master of Arts in Teaching degree from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. I earned Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Boston University’s College of Engineering. I hold a Maryland Advanced Professional Certificate teaching credentials. Before becoming a teacher, I worked for various government contractors designing software and hardware for different submarine and anti-submarine warfare platforms. I have 20+ years teaching experience teaching 2nd through 5th grades. I have been married for 30+ years. My professional memberships include being a member of AAUW (American Association of University Women), NCTM (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics), and NSTA (National Science Teachers’ Association). I received a 2009 “Teacher as Leaders in Gifted Education” award. I have held various positions within EASMC including Building Rep. and Board of Directors Member at Large. I have also participated in various EASMC trainings including the “I Can Do It” classroom management PD.
