Work Location: Fairlead Academy I

Active participation in our Association is a professional responsibility!  I am thankful and honored to be able to serve my colleagues as a member of this Board.  I began my career with SMCPS in 2008, and from the very beginning, EASMC has tangibly supported my personal and professional journey. I hold a B.A. in Education from the University of the West Indies, and an M.S. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Florida International University, and I am currently pursuing an Ed.D. at Walden University. My service to the Association includes duties as Building Representative, serving on the Board of Directors, and by extension, working to keep the state and the national Union strong.  I am passionate about my work as Chair of the Minority Affairs Committee and the opportunity it has brought for EASMC to work as full partners with SMCPS and key community groups. This work has and continues to bring equity to our education landscape, and that is key if we are to deconstruct silos, reach beyond our classrooms and build community.  If we achieve that, then all stakeholders benefit from this uplift. My commitment is to value the voice of the entire membership and to work to keep our Association focused and strong.
